Issue #627: Ring in the Changes

This week's edition starts with the drama at Milton Keynes, as Red Bull fired Christian Horner after 20 years as Team Principal, sending shockwaves through Formula 1. Deputy Editor Jack Oliver Smith discusses if Horner's departure from the team was perhaps more inevitable than first thought. In the all-electric world of Formula E, Oliver Rowland became the series' second British World Champion, clinching the title in Berlin after a sterling performance. Jack was trackside at the Tempelhof Circuit to witness the drama, with Ellie Majumdar and Daniel Burgin capturing some amazing photos. Over in Iowa, Pato O'Ward and Alex Palou were the victors in the NTT IndyCar Series double-header. Kevin Dejewski was trackside to provide the words and the amazing images. Also in Germany, the Sachsenring played host to MotoGP, and perhaps predictably, Marc Marquez took victory in both races to further increase his advantage. Eden Hannigan was on hand to cover the dominant display. Remaining on two wheels, Henry Cheal witnessed all the action from the World Superbike Championship at Donnington, as a similarly dominant display took place, from the bike of Toprak Razgatliogu. Meanwhile over in Interlagos, history was made as Hetz JOTA Cadillac took its first-ever FIA World Endurance Championship win, with the #12 car of Will Stevens, Norman Nato and Alex Lynn taking the chequered flag, and leading home a 1-2 for the American marque. Phil Oakley has all the details. And, as always, we have all the usual news, views and stories in this week's edition of the most widely read weekly motorsport magazine in the world!
